West Bromwich Albion forward Callum Robinson confirmed that he isn't currently vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus in a recent Republic of Ireland Press Conference.

Robinson has contracted the infection on two occasions but says that opting against having the vaccine is his decision.

"I haven't been vaccinated, no, that's my choice at this moment in time" the Ireland striker replied when probed about his preference towards the jab.

"It's obviously annoying that I've caught it twice but I haven't been vaccinated. Further down the line I could change my mind and want to do it, but at this moment in time I haven't been vaccinated."

The 26-year-old spoke of his struggles when battling the illness, claiming the "first time wasn't as bad as the second".

"Second time, I had a little bit of a bad chest, which was a little bit annoying" Robinson described.

"It took longer to get back to my full fitness and to get my energy back, it took more out of me than the first time."

The forward has been an important figure in the Albion line-up so far this campaign and claims that "It's your personal choice if you want to be vaccinated".

"I know there's managers and players that will want you to do it, and that's right in their way" said Robinson when asked about the pressures of other members of the footballing community on players to get jabbed.

"I wouldn't force it on people to do it, it's your choice, it's your body" was the stance taken by the Baggies' striker.

The former Preston North End and Sheffield United man reportedly isn't the only one in Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland squad not to have been double vaccinated against the virus, and claims that the virus has caused issues whilst playing for the Boys in Green.

"I've lost caps through coronavirus which is obviously so annoying", however, Robinson reiterated his stance that it's still his choice.

Robinson's Republic of Ireland face Azerbaijan in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier and Qatar in an International Friendly.

The Baggies' man will return from his Ireland squad next week to resume Championship action on Friday against Midlands' rivals Birmingham City.
